Sinopsys

When Madalena’s mother died, she left behind a story about a mysterious secret located somewhere in their little hometown of Fatima, Portugal. Madalena thinks the secret is about a great white bird, whose discovery would save her family by giving new life to her bird-watcher father, who is lost in grief. She sets out on a search, along with her little brother Tomas and a boy and girl whose true identities are unknown to her. In the adventure that ensues, Madalena must grapple with issues of friendship, betrayal, love and faith. And in the end, the secret she uncovers will change her life.

Teaser Development

All movies need a script, that is, the story that will be told and that is presented in a sequence of squares, which we call storyboard. The next step is the animated storyboard which includes sound design and dialogues. Joining these first steps, we managed to make a very simple version of the film, known as ANIMATIC: the characters and scenarios are very simple objects and lighter to be manipulated. It’s kind of a preview of what’s going to be done for the final project. Animatic is the last step before entering 3D.
With these steps completed, we start with the modeling. We put in specific software of animation all the elements that we created until here. We produce a digital sculpture of each character to be used in the next stages.
Each second of animation has 25 images per second, each of these images can be separated into several layers to facilitate and optimize the render, for example, we render a scenario, another render for the character, another render for the shadow, these images can then be changed more easily in post-production.
With all the scenes produced, we start editing, putting all the scenes in order, make the necessary transitions and incorporate the sound, with all the sound effects, speech and soundtrack. A color correction makes the unit of the film not to have drastic unintentional variations, creating then the final teaser.

Dear Ms Dr. Manuela Eanes

Our movie, like everything in life, has critics and enthusiasts. As positives like we are we keep in our heart the most enthusiastic which is the case of our dear Ms Dr. Manuela Eanes (old first lady of Portugal).

“I found a lovely idea of Rui Pedro Oliveira to use the animation for the film about the miracle of Fatima, since it allows, especially the children, to create a relationship of identification and familiarity with the characters, getting their attention to the contents of the messages , which is particularly important for transmitting fundamental values such as faith, peace and imagination in a world so dehumanized.” Manuela Eanes
